Serving the Birmingham Community Specifically, these funds will allow Triumph to address the life skills and emotional issues that create a barrier to successful employment for individuals who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The overall goal of the grant is to assist these individuals in becoming ready for competitive employment and securing jobs for the grant Participants.

Important Fact Announcement Triumph Welcomes Its Newest Team Members! Stephanie Shoemaker began working as a Life Coach for Triumph in November 2009. She has a Master’s Degree in Education and numerous years of teaching experience. Stephanie is a great addition to our team.
Matt White joined our team in January 2010 as an Employment Specialist. Matt graduated from Birmingham-Southern College and has worked as an Adjunct Professor where he influenced young people with learning differences.
Lynn Smith is an Intern at the University of Alabama at Birmingham completing her Master’s Degree in Agency Counseling. Lynn began working with Triumph in February 2010 to complete her internship and gain valuable experience. |

Triumph’s model of addressing each person’s emotional, independent living, social, and employment needs has proven to be successful. This holistic approach helps people have success in all areas of their life. Currently, there is no ongoing funding for the life coaching and therapy services Triumph provides. Triumph applied for and was awarded a grant through the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services and the American Recovery and Re-investment Act to fund these much needed services.
