Goal: A partnership with high school students with developmental disabilities, to prepare for entry into the workforce, participate in job-readiness training, and build skills through paid word experience in their communities.
Eligibility: High school students who are at least 16 years of age and no older than 21 years of age with a diagnosis of a developmental cognitive disability. Students must have the desire to work independently. They must have transportation to and from the program for the duration of the program. Triumph is unable to provide skilled nursing, administration of medication, feeding or toileting assistance. Students must pass Triumph Service’s screening process. Only students who can produce I-9 documents can go on a payroll, so a student must be able to produce the two required pieces of information.
Students in the Triumph Summer Program will be provided training in the following areas as they pertain to employment:

- Financial Literacy/Budgeting
- Social Skills
- Independent Living Skills
- Community Integration
- Job Readiness Training

- Job Application Process
- Workplace Etiquette and Behaviors
- Interest Inventory Career Assessment
- Mock Interviews
- Job Development/Exploration
Paid Work Experience: Each student’s paid work experience will be arranged around their interests and skill set as it pertains to environment, job tasks, and training style. Placements are in a competitive and integrated setting. Students will complete 40 hours of paid work within the 4-week session and will be compensated minimum wage for their work. Students are given a stipend of $10/day for lunch.
